G. Shubin is a senior researcher for the Institute
for African Studies in the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
He has published 17 books (nine of them coauthored) including three
books on modern South Africa's history, six books on the Anglo-Boer
War 1899–1902, two books on South Africa's army and military
industry, and six books of memoirs about the Angolan war.

Even in Afghanistan: Memoirs of a Participant of the Angolan War
and is a retired lieutenant-colonel and a veteran of wars in Angola
and Mozambique. He participated in three UN peace missions in
Angola and is a freelance interpreter in Portugese and English.
V. Barabulya is a veteran of the Angolan war who
works as an interpreter in German and Portuguese.
A. Kuznetsova-Timonova is a researcher at the
Historical Institute of the Belorussian Academy of Sciences.
