PAULA METCALF is a successful author and illustrator; she decided
on her career when she was 16, and graduated with a First Class
Honours degree and an MA in children's illustration. She was the
first Illustrator-in-Residence at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story
Centre in Buckinghamshire and is a visiting lecturer at Anglia
Ruskin University, where she teaches Children's Book Illustration.
This book is very close to Paula's heart; she is the middle sister,
so knows all too well about being the younger as well as the older
one.
Newcomer SUZANNE BARTON is a recent graduate of the Cambridge
School of Art. Married with two children, she's been developing
this as-yet unseen style that proves less really is more.
"The illustrations in this attractively presented book are simple
but engaging and totally reinforce the assertion that ‘There is
nothing as irresistible as a little sister!’ Suzanne Barton’s style
features a light touch yet is beautifully detailed too and her
ability to bring such character to the children in this book with
the slightest pen mark is outstanding. Paula Metcalf’s text is
funny, well observed and great to read aloud. Certainly, this
guide is a winner in our household where it fits our little sister
to a T."
