About the Author

James Putnam is an independent curator and writer, and author of Art and the Artifact: the Museum as Medium, 2001. Gabriela Salgado is a curator specialised in contemporary Latin American art. She has worked as collection curator of UECLAA (University of Essex Collection of Latin American Art) for six years.
