Gerta Solan was born in Prague in 1929. After liberation, she
returned to Prague, where she married before leaving for Canada
when the Soviets invaded in 1968. She worked for the Red Cross in
Toronto, reuniting families, until her retirement in 1995. Gerta
lives in Toronto.
