Dr Susanne Bahn is a Research Fellow in the Centre
for Innovative Practice, School of Management at Edith Cowan
University in Perth, Western Australia, and has international and
national connections with other safety academics in Australia, New
Zealand, and the UK. Susanne has published, or had accepted for
forthcoming publication, 28 journal articles and peer reviewed
conference papers in the past three years. In addition, a further
22 articles are currently under review in scholarly journals.
Susanne completed her PhD in 2008, and investigated the safety
culture of organisations through the values placed by individual
supervisors and managers on prioritising safety. Susanne is a
co-director of a safety and risk management consultancy, KIS
Safety, that specialises in safety culture improvements through
providing robust safety documentation supported by computer
software, hazard identification training, and one-on-one supervisor
mentoring training. Through this, Susanne is truly hands-on and has
frontline experience with the issues that safety professionals face
in their day-to-day management of workplace safety.
