Alexa Johnston has done it again!!! Another fabulous book, the Crunchy Topped Lemon Loaf an absolute winner as are all these easy to follow receipes. Would it be too much to hope for a third book ? I have a 40years of baking and many receipe books but find myself invariably turning to " A Second Helping and Ladies a Plate ". Well done...

Great book with all the old fashioned kiwi recipes and hints. Goes well alongside the first book and will be well used.

This is the second wonderful book by Alex Johnston. There are no repeat recies from the first book so you can add even more recipes to your repertoire. Even if you are not a baker you will become inspired to try these recipes. Everything turns our perfectly - you can just imagine your mother, aunt, grandmother and the like in their kitchens long agong whipping up these treats. A perfect gift for Christmas. You will not be disappointed!

This is an awesome addition to the first book. It's just like being back in Nana's kitchen, watching her bake. The additional historical stories with the recipes are fantastic. I'm enjoying the beautiful photographs especially the pictures of the old recipe books. Sponge drops, marshmello square, ginger slice ..... I'm off to bake! Thank you Alexa Johnstone - I love both these books.

Alexa has done it once again. This is a fantastic companion book to her first, but also a great stand-alone cookbook. I have recommended this book to all my friends.

Another wonderful baking book by Alexa Johnston. Wonderful traditional recipes - many of which bring back great memories! Lovely photos of each recipe and once again, a little narration about the history of the recipe. I think both of Alexa's baking books will become NZ classics.

This book takes you back to yesteryear when mothers and grandmothers swapped recipes from friends and neighbors. The best of that collection is represented here in another of Alexa's wonderful books. I have the first and fournd it easy to read and even easier to cook from. Do yourself a favour and buy this book!
