Reviews

"Unsettling and poignant evocations of womanhood across time and space." - Karina M. Szczurek. "Stories which momentarily touch the skinside of South African history, variously arch and tender, abrasive and tongue-in-cheek, UnSettled is a tangle of little narratives which knot, and slip." - Sally-Ann Murray. "UnSettled: stories which momentarily touch the skinside of South African history, variously arch and tender, abrasive and tongue-in-cheek, asking readers to mind the gaps of representation, experience, memory. Hill is intrigued by the living claims of the past in the present, the partial face which is worn by the ordinary. These are stories of strange familiars: relatives long gone, yet half alive in words. Lost friendships that haunt a dream, and children who must learn to live beyond motherly comfort. UnSettled is a tangle of little narratives which knot, and slip." - Sally-Ann Murray
