A story of two teenagers trapped in the world of illegal underground boxing. One is fighting to save his fathers life and using the money pay off gambling debts accumulated by his father. The second is fighting for the money to get out of the ghettos. While being exploited by a boxing promoter the two teens become friends. An explosive ending puts the two friends in the ring against each other in a fight for survival.

Gladiator is a pretty cheesy boxing flick that passes the time pretty well as there is some entertaining scenes and some good fight scenes. The appearance of cuba gooding jnr does not make the film any more credible, in fact i believe this could possibly be his worst performance ever captured on film. The lead James Marshall, is absolutely dire though, worth watching for free on late night tv when you can't sleep, but otherwise not that great.
