Reviews

'Anyone that has a serious commitment to understanding British politics will want this book. It is, as previous editions have proven, the premier reference work for British politics...It is unlikely there is another book as useful for devotees of British politics as this one.' - T.P. Wolf, British Politics Group Newsletter '...no other work pulls all this information together in a single volume. Highly recommended for all reference collections.' - Choice '...the eighth edition bursts on what ought to be a gratified world.' - David McKie Elsewhere, The Guardian 'Now in its eighth edition, and thirty-seven years after its first appearance, this book is still unmatched as a source of information and fascination...the editors are to be congratulated in their successful assimilation of new details...the editors convey a sense of seamless change over their century, in the belief that it is their job to provide the ammunition, while others will fire off the value judgements.' - Mark Garnett, Times Literary Supplement '...a veritable treasure trove of facts, figures and of much else besides...a copy of this book should be available to, and be consulted by, as many students of British politics as possible.' - T.A Ford, Talking Politics 'A book to stimulate curiosity and feed the imagination.' - Frances Boyd, The Guardian 'An invaluable handbook...No selection of interesting snippets can do justice to the wealth and variety of information provided.' - C.L. Mowat, Listener
