Jimmy Carter served as thirty-ninth President of the United States. He and his wife, Rosalynn, founded The Carter Center, a nonprofit forum for issues related to human rights and democracy, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. He is the author of numerous books.
