Reviews

A formidable tome... the editors certainly deserve high admiration for an enormous labour of love.

A substantial volume ... the overall standard is high ...extraordinarily good value ... a vast assembly of impressive material.

The reader will not be disappointed. Taken as a case study this text provides rich and fertile ground for exploration of problems familiar in many countries. The book should appeal to a wide readership for that reason ... This book tells us comprehensively how Scottish education works. It also sets a research agenda for the future.

This monumental book, the most comprehensive treatment ever of education in Scotland ... is a book designed to last, the standard text on all and every aspect of education in modern Scotland.
