Gr 5-8--This well-done abridgement of Dana White's book (Lerner, 2000) is narrated by Robert Abia. Lucas' life story reads like one of his moviesÄthrilling and full of action. From his near-fatal car accident at age 18 to the grueling work of Star Wars film production, Abia leads young listeners through the twists and turns of Lucas' rollercoaster ride to movie-making mogul. All the important highlights of his life are here, including intriguing details such as his penchant for fast cars and comic books, his early disdain for schoolwork, and his aloofness around actors and people in general. As entertainment, this is a read-aloud adventure.
