Sherry Saggers is a lecturer in the Department of Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia.

Dennis Gray is Principal Policy Officer at the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority, Western Australia.

Both have worked in Aboriginal communities and have observed first-hand the conditions that they write about.
