About the Author

Federic Grare is presently Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of France in Pakistan. Earlier he was Director of the Centre de Science Humaines, New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva and had worked for the Programme for Strategic and International Security Studies in Geneva. Dr Grares recent publications include: India and ASEAN: The Politics of Indias Look-East Policy (co-edited with A. Mattoo), Indias Energy: Essays on Sustainable Development (co-edited with P.R. Shukla and Pierre Audinet), Islamism and Security: Political Islam and the Western World; Tajikistan: The Trials of Independence (co-authored with Shirin Akiner and Mohammed-Reza Djalili).
