Author Rule was volunteering in a Seattle clinic as a series of murders occurred in the area. Then as suddenly as they began, the killings stopped. Several years later a man was arrested in Florida for turning a college sorority into a slaughterhouse. When his picture appeared in the press, Rule recognized him as another of the clinic's volunteers, a charming young man she knew as Ted. His full name: Ted Bundy. When arrested, he told police that he was "the most cold-blooded son of a bitch" they'd ever meet. He wasn't lying; investigators eventually linked him to more than 30 murders.
