It is one of the most practical and versatile textsavailable focused on the clinical practice of hepatology. Althoughsome have argued that we are now being educated via electronicmeans more than ever, this text provides the reader with a classictextbook, and it should be considered to be an essential componentof all updated hepatology libraries. (Gastroenterology, 1 August 2013) This is a well-written update that justifies replacingthe previous edition. I know I will consult my copy on a frequentbasis -- an unusual event in this era of online material, althoughthis edition does include access to an online version with manyadditional resources.
