About the Author

Jill Duchess of Hamilton was born and educated in Sydney and was sent to London as a correspondent for the Murdoch press in Australia. In the late 1980s when living in France, she started writing on Napoleon's family. This led her to both the Hamilton archives in Scotland and marriage to the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon, who also has a French title. Now single, the Duchess divides her time between London, Edinburgh and the Great Barrier Reef.
