About the Author

Mary Witkowski, coauthor with Bruce Williams of Bridgeport on the Sound and head librarian and archivist of the Bridgeport Public Library's Historical Collections, provides an inside look at the working lives of thousands of residents who made Bridgeport a outstanding city. She is project director of the oral history Web site Bridgeport Working: Voices of the Twentieth Century.
