Author James D. Newland is a supervising historian and manager with California State Parks in San Diego and a former forest historian for the Cleveland National Forest. Newland has created this centennial history featuring many rare and never-before-seen images of U.S. Forest Service staff, historic sites, facilities, notable and infamous events and individuals, as well as historic and scenic views of the Santa Ana, San Jacinto, Palomar, and Laguna Mountain lands.
