About the Author

Patricia Morley is a prolific writer and the recipientof many awards, including the 1987 Ottawa Citizen Award forNon-Fiction. She is Professor Emerita at Concordia University andfounding member and Lifetime Honorary Fellow at the Simone de BeauvoirInstitute, Montreal. Since 1961 she has made frequent trips to Japanwhere she has many friends and continues to find the country and itsculture fascinating.
