Peter Carey is a zoologist based in Christchurch. He has made more than 60 trips to Antarctica and works as a lecturer/expedition leader on Antarctic cruise ships. Craig Franklin, a New Zealander who is professor in zoology at the University of Queensland, has made over 25 trips to Antarctica. He spends his holidays lecturing on cruise ships about Antarctica's ecosystem and spectacular wildlife.
