Lisa Akoury-Ross was born in an Italian and Lebanese family where good food and large family gatherings were a frequent occurrence. As a child, there was always someone cooking - grandparents, aunts, and uncles and parents - so there was always something healthy and flavorful to eat. Today a lot of these Mediterranean meals have become a part of American cuisine, which is why Lisa has worked hard to demonstrate this way of cooking in her new cookbook, New American Cuisine for Today's Family. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the ALS Foundation, Greater Bay Area, California in honor of her late cousin, Leonard Tomasini.
