About the Author

Alan Coleman is a retired technical writer/illustrator who resides with his wife in Hickory. A volunteer at the North Carolina Transportation Museum, he is also a member of the Southern Railway Historical Association and the Norfolk and Western Historical Society. Coleman is the author of Arcadia Publishing's Images of Rail: Railroads of North Carolina.
