Pierre Rosenberg is president of the Musee du Louvre. He was director of the Museum from 1994-2001. He is an expert in Italian and French painting and drawing from the 17th and 18th centuries. His more recent books include Da Raffaello all Rivoluzione (Skira, 2005), Chardin (2000), and From Drawing to Painting (2000).
