About the Author

Jeroen Lamers studied at Leiden University, Cambridge and Coimbra, where he read classical Japanese and 16th century Portuguese philology. After graduating from Leiden, he became a graduate student at the University of Osaka and later again at Leiden. Dr. Lamers currently works at the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs.
