About the Author

Brian Galligan is Professor of Political Science at the University of Melbourne. He has published widely on Australian politics and is known internationally for his work on federalism, the High Court and the Australian constitution. Winsome Roberts has worked as an academic and policy analyst and has extensive experience in political engagement and local activism. She is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Political Science at the University of Melbourne and specialises in the study of civil society, social capital and street-level politics.
