Reviews

African American Studies is a welcome addition to the growing body of literature on the discipline of Black/Africana Studies.--Sundiata Keita Cha-Jua, University of Illinois Urbana & President of the National Council for Black Studies

Filling a void in the literature, this book will be an excellent primary text with its emphasis on social activism, international perspectives, the humanities and gender. I would highly recommend it as an introduction to the field.--Terry Kershaw, University of Cincinnati & Editor, International Journal of Africana Studies
