Catherine Shanahan, MD trained at Cornell University's Molecular Biology program where she learned how nutrients direct physiologic growth. In medical school, she found that older patients raised on traditional foods tended to be the healthiest in their family, endowed with attractive features, strong joints, and sturdy bones. Applying her experience in genetics, she identified which traditional foods optimize gene expression. While lecturing around the Pacific, Dr. Shanahan has revolutionized how fellow medical professionals think about nutrition and health. Luke Shanahan, MFA graduated from University of Iowa where he attended the prestigious Writers' Workshop as an undergrad. Since graduate school, he has taught and lectured around the country and continued to pursue his interests in literature, art, and cooking.
