Linda M. Lewis is the author of three books, most recently Germaine de Stau00ebl, George Sand, and the Victorian Woman Artist (University of Missouri Press). She lives and works in Lindsborg, Kansas, where she is Professor of English at Bethany College.
"In this energetically written, rigorously argued, and lucid book, Linda M. Lewis asserts the absolute sincerity of Dickens's beliefs and places New Testament parabolic morality at the heart of his novels. Dickens, she argues, was immersed in the Bible--his 'idiolect was saturated with biblical cadence, paraphrase, and metaphor' (10-11)--and she follows the capillary traces of Christian allusion in his work."--Dickens Quarterly
