Reviews

""Those who have not acquainted themselves with the stories of the brilliant Canadian novelist should do so at once - her novels are full of human people with whom you can laugh and sigh."" - Hamilton Daily Times, 1913 ""It is a stern outline of the child, yet for all her serious nature she has a brave spirit and knows how to hold her own with the best of them as the delighted reader will speedily perceive. Emily is destined to make a mark in literature."" - Western Mail, 1923 ""When you get a girl (naughty but charming) and a house with a romantic name, not to speak of a grim aunt and other persons, you have all the materials for an appealing domestic story. This is one."" - The Sketch, 1923
