the Department of Psychiatry and the Centre for Health and Society
at the University of Melbourne, and Honorary Psychiatrist at St
Vincent s Hospital. He has been Associate Editor of the British
Journal of Psychiatry and Chief Editor of the Australian and New
Zealand Journal of Psychiatry. His 14 books, many of which have
been translated, deal with the psychotherapies, psycho-oncology and
medical ethics.
Bruce Singh has been Cato Professor and Head of the
Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, and
Director of Psychiatric Services, Royal Melbourne Hospital. He was
co-director of the national Health and Medical Research Council's
Schizophrenia Research Unit at Royal Park Hospital. In 2003, he was
awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal for his services to
medicine.
