About the Author

Fr. Joshua Makoul has been serving as the dean of St. George Cathedral in Pittsburgh since 2012. Before that time, he worked in the counseling field for sixteen years. This involved work in family-based, school-based, and outpatient settings. Fr. Joshua received two years of training in family therapy at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center and completed a one-year certificate course in cognitive behavior therapy at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Fr. Joshua received his master's degree in counseling psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and his bachelor's in psychology from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is licensed in the state of Pennsylvania for counseling. For seminary he attended Holy Cross Seminary in Boston and received an M.Div. Metropolitan Joseph [Al-Zehlaoui] is Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of all North America, Antiochian Christian Archdiocese of North America

Fr. Joshua empowers us to take the steps to walk closer with Christ, with others, and with ourselves. Healing Your Wounded Soul provides the tools we need to comprehend the depth of our woundedness and the peace beyond understanding that emerges from the pain. I would recommend this book to all wounded souls, that is, to everyone. - Dr. Albert Rossi, author of Becoming a Healing Presence and All is Well
Fr. Joshua explains in easy-to-understand prose many terms and concepts taken from his study of human psychology to describe the ways in which people's relationships with God and neighbor are hindered by their past. Instead of offering purely secular advice, however, Fr. Joshua draws on the ascetical spiritual tradition to offer an Orthodox Christian path towards peace and healing. - +JOSEPH, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of all North America, AOCA
