The story is presented in the form of letters and journal entries written by Pleskit Meenom, an alien from the planet Hevi-Hevi, and his earth friend, Tim Tompkins. Pleskit gets into trouble when he brings the brain of the "grandfatherly one" to class and it disappears during a bomb scare. Narrator William Dufris is very adept at differentiating the many male and female character voices. Important lessons about trust, friendship, and honesty are humorously interwoven in Coville's fantastic plot.
