About the Author

BELINDA ELLIS is a New Zealand designer, painter, illustrator and lover of words. A graduate from Wellington Polytechnic School of Design (1986), Belinda has had a successful career as a graphic designer in New Zealand and London. More recently, Belinda was a lead designer at Designworks, one of Australasia's leading brand agencies. She has won various awards for her design work, most notably, a Designers Institute of New Zealand Best Design Award Gold Pin for the identity and trophy for the New Zealand Prime Minister's Science Prize (2010). In 2012, Belinda left Designworks to write, illustrate and design a series of picture books celebrating the nuances and joy of language. The first two - Back-To-Front Bob and Punctuation Mark - are to be published in May and July 2014. Smart Alex (ABC Hons) is to follow.
