So many histories of the War in the Pacific focus on the Allied experience, this title reverses this trend by examining the year of Japanese victory, when the might Japanese naval and ground forces swept all before them both throughout the Pacific and on mainland Asia.

Reviews

From Ted Green (Historical Association review): Yenne looks at the campaign as a coordinated plan from the Japanese point of view. Gives a true feeling of how the Allied disasters unfolded. Excellent opening section. Gives a good introduction to anyone wanting to learn more about the campaign. This is an excellent book for anyone coming fresh to the subject or only knowing part of the story. A welcome addition to any military history library.
