John M. Feehan was born in County Tipperary. After a number of years in the regular army he resigned to devote his life to business and literature. 'Just a few words to say that this is a delightful read. A very
personal journal during his solo sail along the southerly coast of
Ireland. Granted that because it was written in 1978 one shouldn't
rely on it as a travel guide, but he does call out castles and holy
wells that you won't find in mainstream guides. Much more than that
though are his accounts of pub chats, historical backgrounders, a
bit of philosophy, and amusing observations. There is something in
this for sailors, travelers, Irish history buffs and anyone who
appreciates good writing.' - Patti
