John Faulkner Potts (1838–1923) was a pioneering Swedenborgian scholar and clergyman who spent twenty-seven years compiling The Swedenborg Concordance, wearing out five typewriters and almost losing the use of his writing hand in the process. Potts was also a skilled translator and editor, translating the twelve volumes of Swedenborg’s magnum opus, the Arcana Coelestia, between 1905 and 1910, as well as numerous other smaller works.
