We are taught early in life that a book is for reading and that the
focus of our reading should be on understanding the words printed
upon its pages. If we do, we can savor a masterful author’s
sculpting of those words and then they breathe life into profound
experiences and valuable lessons for us. David Bennett does that on
each page of his new book, yet, I didn’t so much read it in the
traditional way as much as I found myself having an intimate
conversation with a wise, old friend. Such a friend speaks to us
gently, in A Voice as Old as Time, sharing eternal truths we can
reflect upon and apply in our day-to- day living and, with wisdom,
guides us along our path of awakening. Make sure you have this
friend close by on your quiet walks, while you sip tea by the
fireplace, or to turn to in the midst of a hectic day to help you
restore yourself to the real purpose of life.

David Bennett’s reflections are like the patient and gentle urgings
of a wise parent, pointing us, always, toward the practice of
compassion. The non-denominational nature of his writing enhances
his message, reminding us that we are all connected, each of us a
spark of the light of a universal consciousness. Unique, yet
joined. A lovely book to keep close to hand during meditation,
contemplation or prayer.

David Bennett has had an amazing journey in this lifetime including
near death experiences and being allowed to glimpse and get to know
his eternal soul. So when he writes of “trusting the process” and
advises how to “listen to your inner voice” he speaks from the
experience of an intrepid explorer. In this new book of spiritual
contemplation he guides us with practical ideas and concepts on
staying in touch with spirituality, A Voice as Old as Time puts us
directly in touch with that ageless, timeless voice we all have. A
terrific person, a fantastic book, and a must have for anyone
exploring the nature of spirituality and the awakening of the human
soul to its ultimate potential.

Following in the footsteps of other intrepid spiritual adventurers
has been extremely helpful. They’ve walked the walk and have
brought back wisdom and tricks of the trade, if you will, for
making the return trip far more wonder-full than imagined.
David Bennett is one of my favorite adventurers to emulate. Though
there is no sugar coating on his instructions, they are still sweet
to the taste. In A Voice as Old as Time, David shares many
treasures in such a way that makes me want to just sit in the midst
of the truths laid down before me. There is no denying that the
infrastructure of David’s wisdom has been lived first hand. He is a
good man to follow! Follow me as I follow him.

love, the unifying language of the universe, is the only thing that
matters. It is with love that we experience Oneness and the

In his second book, energy healer and transformational coach David
Bennett uses contemplations to develop a center of focus in
meditation and during daily life. The contemplations in A Voice As
Old As Time provide a subject for serious thought or consideration
into the reader’s divine nature
Unlike other meditation techniques that look to empty the mind,
contemplations intently focus on an idea about something while in a
state of stillness or when being mindful. Reflective meditation
involves repeatedly turning your attention to a theme but being
open to whatever arises from the experience.
Deep and lasting wisdom comes from the experience. A Voice As Old
As Time gives contemplations that allow the reader to calmly plant
the seeds of transformation designed to expand consciousness. The
Wisdom of the contemplations is a voice as old as time; words like
these have been spoken by our ancestors before and still hold the
wisdom today for those ready to listen.
Bennett’s book evolved from the daily contemplations he posts on
his Facebook page DharmaTalks and from the work he does helping
others on a path of spiritual transformation. Many times while
posting reflections and whilst writing A Voice As Old As Time,
David found that the contemplations and life itself crisscrossed in
unexpected ways. Other people that follow his daily contemplations
online report similar experiences.
The book can be used in daily practice and/or as a divination tool
to see what reflective energy is needed in life at any particular
moment. Working with reflections helps the reader make empowered
choices that imbue their lives and relationships with real
substance and depth.
