Performer Notes
  • Blondie: Debbie Harry (vocals); Chris Stein, Frank Infante (guitar); Jimmy Destri (keyboards); Nigel Harrison (bass); Clem Burke (drums).
  • This is a 12-track anthology of remixes of Blondie hits.
  • Following 1989's ONE MORE INTO THE BLEACH, 1995's REMIXED, REMADE, REMODELED is the second collection of remixes of classic Blondie singles. But where ONCE MORE gave equal weight to Debbie Harry solo singles and kept the revisionism to a minimum, no one will ever mistake these drastically-revamped versions for the originals.
  • Lengthy--only two of the 11 tracks are under seven minutes--and based on the dancefloor trends of the mid-'90s rather than new wave forms of the late '70s, these are less remixes than completely new reinterpretations. "Dreaming (The Sub-Urban Dream Mix)" and "One Way or Another (Damien's Supermarket Mix)" are among the most successful of the revamps, but best of the lot is the new version of "Dreaming" by the UK's Utah Saints, who transform the manic original into something almost delicate, but still with a dancefloor edge.
Professional Reviews
Melody Maker (7/15/95, p.37) - "...heinous....Blondie's impeccably executed pop moments cry out for remixing like a drowning man cries out for an anvil....The Utah Saints have decided that what `Dreaming'--simply the best single ever made--really needed was a nosebleed beat and some daft gurgling noises..."

NME (Magazine) (7/15/95, p.49) - 4 (out of 10) - "...hideously variable....The worn-out tactic of sampling a fraction of a lyric, and then pressing the `repeat' button--all over a completely inappropriate, hastily constructed soundscape--is very much in evidence..."
