About the Author

Melissa Marr is the New York Times bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series as well as the adult fantasy novels Graveminder and The Arrivals. When not traveling, Melissa can be found in Phoenix or online at www.melissamarrbooks.com.

When librarians finally granted Kelley Armstrong an adult card, she made straight for the epic fantasy and horror shelves. She spent the rest of her childhood and teen years happily roaming fantastical and terrible worlds, and vowed that someday she'd write a story combining swords, sorcery, and the ravenous undead. That story began with the New York Times bestselling Sea of Shadows and continues with Empire of Night.

Armstrong's first works for teens were the New York Times bestselling Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising trilogies. She lives in rural Ontario with her husband, three children, and far too many pets.

Rachel Caine is the coauthor of the Honors series and has written more than fifty novels in multiple genres, including young adult, thriller, science fiction/fantasy, horror, and paranormal romance. She is best known for the #1 internationally bestselling fifteen-book Morganville Vampires series and her Weather Warden series in urban fantasy. She lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas, with her husband, artist, actor, and comic historian R. Cat Conrad. www.rachelcaine.com

Claudia Gray is the pseudonym of New Orleans-based writer Amy Vincent, the author of the New York Times bestselling Evernight series. She has worked as a lawyer, a journalist, a disc jockey, and an extremely poor waitress. Her grandparents' copy of Mysteries of the Unexplained is probably the genesis of her fascination with most things mysterious and/or inexplicable.

Margaret Stohl is the bestselling author of twelve books for children and teens, including coauthor of the #1 New York Times bestselling Beautiful Creatures series. She also cowrites Mighty Captain Marvel for Marvel Comics. You can learn more about her at www.mstohl.com. Sarah Rees Brennan was born and raised in Ireland. After earning her master's in creative writing in New York and doing library work in Surrey, England, she has returned to Dublin, Ireland, to write. She is the author of the novels The Demon's Lexicon, The Demon's Covenant, and The Demon's Surrender, and her short story "Let's Get This Undead Show on the Road" appears in the collection Enthralled: Paranormal Diversions.

Reviews

Gr 8 Up-The 16 short stories in this enticing anthology, written by today's most popular authors of paranormal teen fiction, showcase strong female protagonists (and a few guys) undergoing journeys both actual and spiritual. Readers will be happy to see familiar characters and settings from some of their favorite authors' novels. The selections feature ghosts, genies, harpies, faeries, necromancers, vampires, psychics, and Untouchables. In Carrie Ryan's "Scenic Route," set after "the Change," two teens living in a remote mountain cabin fight zombies and bandits while constantly dreaming about and planning their ideal road trip. Jessica Verday's lighthearted "At the Late Night, Double Feature, Picture Show" features a kick-ass heroine battling cannibal Girl Scouts while trying to save defanged Rocky Horror-obsessed vampires after their car breaks down. Margaret Stohl's wryly funny "IV League" is about two not-so-bright "Drinkers" visiting East Coast Ivy League universities intent on getting admitted despite the fact that these institutions normally won't take "their kind." These consistently well-written stories offer something for every taste, whether it's dark, edgy, and violent or funny and sweet.-Sharon Rawlins, New Jersey State Library, Trenton (c) Copyright 2011.
