Betsy is finally enjoying her royal undead status. Of course, anything would be easier than planning her wedding; she can't set a date much less buy shoes. Naturally, these are the least of her concerns. Ordinarily, the local serial killer wouldn't be her problem, but she sees ghosts now, and they won't leave her alone until she agrees to put a stop to him. Just one more day in the life of the Vampire Queen. Nancy Wu's delivery is spot on for Betsy's dry wit and self-centered yet self-aware demeanor. Though Wu's voice is too feminine to exude Eric Sinclair's sex appeal, she has his condescension cold. Women star in this installment, and Wu has a wide range of characterizations at her disposal. Davidson's books are even more amusing heard than read. Recommended.-Jodi L. Israel, MLS, Jamaica Plain, MA Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
