Anika Fajardo is a writer, editor, and teacher. She was born in Colombia and raised in Minnesota. Her honors include a Jerome Foundation Travel & Study Grant, several Minnesota state Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants, and a Lift Literary Center Mentor Series fellowship. She lives and writes in the very literary city of Minneapolis where she teaches and serve on the Board of the Loft Literary Center.
Her memoir, Magical Realism for Non-Believers published in 2019 from University of Minnesota Press and her middle grade novels, What If A Fish and the forthcoming Meet Me Halfway, are published by Simon & Schuster Children's. Many of her stories are based on experience as a half Columbian growing up in Minnesota and discovering the beauty and magic of her Colombian heritage.
