About the Author

M E Holley studied English and Old English at Aberdeen University, becoming fascinated by old legends and sagas. She has been a teacher in schools and colleges, introducing many young people to the excitement of literature. A whole new world of history and legend opened to her when she moved to Herefordshire, the most sparsely-populated area of England. There, on the border with Wales, in the mysterious and beautiful Marches, she came across the dragon legends, from both sides of the border, that would fire her imagination.
