Celebrating 60 years of life and 40 years of show biz, this is the long awaited autobiography of a British legend.
Born Priscilla Maria Veronica White in Liverpool's heavily bombed,
down trodden Scotland Road in 1943, Cilla grew up as a rough and
tumble tomboy in a staunchly catholic household. By the time she
was twenty - caught up in the incredible youth explosion of the
Sixties - she was a key player on the up and coming Mersey scene,
managed by Brian Epstein and friends with the Beatles. She enjoyed
hit after smash hit as Cilla Black, selling a hundred thousand
records a day.
Cilla became a prominent television presenter in the 1980s and
1990s with shows such as Blind Date and Surprise Surprise. Two
years after celebrating 50 years in showbusiness, she sadly passed
away in August 2015.
