Richard Cork's "Art Beyond the Gallery" (1985) won the Bannister Fletcher Award for best art book of the year.
Richard Cork has been the art critic for the London Evening Standard and the Listener and is now senior art critic at The Times. He was the editor of Studio International and is the author of numerous works, including Vorticism, 1976, Art Beyond the Gallery, 1985 (winner of the Bannister Fletcher Award for best art book of the year), a biography of David Bomberg, 1987, and A Bitter Truth: Art and the First World War, 1995, all for Yale University Press.
