About the Author

Dr Brian Kennedy was for many years a senior lecturer in varied fields of history at Monash University. His previous books, A Tale of Two Mining Cities- Johannesburg and Broken Hill and Silver, Sin and Sixpenny Ale- A Social History of Broken Hill were published by Melbourne University Press.
