Andrew Caveness came to Ellensburg in pursuit of a master's degree in history and fell in love with the rich history Ellensburg has to offer. Working with Milton Wagy, the dedicated local-history librarian at the Ellensburg Public Library, Caveness has pieced together the city's unique and entwined history, bringing the people and places of Ellensburg to life.

should check out the new book, "Images of America Ellensburg" by
Auxiliary Service's very own Andrew Caveness. Andrew has a
Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Washington and
a Master's Degree in History from Central Washington University.
Andrew currently works in Dining Services as a Supervisor II. He
has always loved history, and over a year ago he discovered the
"Images of America" series published by Arcadia Press. Andrew
contacted Arcadia Press and offered to write a book about
Ellensburg. "Images of America Ellensburg" is filled with photos
from Ellensburg's past provided by the Ellensburg Public Library.
All of the text was written by Andrew, but he shares the co-author
title with the Ellensburg Public Library as way to both thank them
for the pictures they donated and to help promote their library. He
truly appreciated this opportunity to use his degree and showcase
the city of Ellensburg. Topics in the book include: Beginnings,
Independence Day Fire of 1889, Business and Growth, School, Church
and Community, Fair and Rodeo, Agriculture and Farming,
Transportation, and Town Scenes. Although this is his first book,
Andrew hopes to publish more in the future and someday dreams of
becoming a History professor. Copies of "Images of America
