Ian Mackersey is a writer and documentary film-maker, whose biographies of the beautiful reclusive pilot Jean Batten, the 'Garbo of the Skies', shortly to become a major film, and of the great Australian pilot Charles Kingsford Smith, were highly acclaimed.
