Ghazanfar has successfully assembled into one concise volume a wealth of resources supporting both general and scholarly inquiry into Islamic contributions to Western culture and knowledge.
*American Reference Books Annual, vol. 38 (2007)*

For those who want a wide-ranging literature survey of Muslim culture, S. M. Ghazanfar's Islamic Civilization: History, Contributions, and Influence is a good choice.
*Zentralblatt für Geologie und Paläontologie, March 2007*

In order to help relieve the blind spot Westerners have about the importance of Islamic influence in Western culture and society, Ghazanfar (emeritus economics, U. of Idaho) cites and substantially annotates more than 600 English-language books and articles pertaining to Islamic history, contributions to knowledge, and the impact of that knowledge once it was assimilated in medieval Europe. Most of the works were published during the second half of the 20th century. Students at any level, journalists, policy makers, and general readers can find here an entry into further study or just a general overview.
