About the Author

Rolf Steininger is the Jean Monnet Professor and chair of the Institute of Contemporary History at the University of Innsbruck. Gunter Bischof is chair and Marshall Professor of History and executive director of Center Austria at the University of New Orleans. Michael Gehler is professor at the Institute for the History at the Foundation University of Hildesheim and was a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Bonn.
